LITURGY AND SPIRITUAL LIFE COMMITTEE
This committee serves as an advisory board to the Pastor in matters regarding the Liturgy within the Parish. They are instrumental in the planning and implementation of events such as: Mass of Anointing, Mass for Widows & Widowers, Advent and Lenten liturgies and other special liturgical celebrations. Some members are involved in the coordination and training of Altar Servers, Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Communion, & Musicians.

PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL
Parish Pastoral Council is a group of appointed members from Sacred Heart Parish, who serve in an advisory capacity and give council and advice to the Pastor. They address and evaluate the needs and goals of the Parish Community.

ENDOWMENT COMMITTEE
The Endowment Committee is an advisory body to the Pastor and the Finance Council. Its main purpose is public relations and marketing of the Parish and School Endowment in an effort to grow the principle funds of the Endowment. Other objectives include educational events and/or PR meetings and/or dinners. Meeting annually with the investment advisor and annually making a disbursement of the funds to the parish Finance Council who has the role of allocating dispersed funds. A specific purpose of the Endowment Committee and Fund is to make it possible for the parish to experience growth in Parish Ministries, Social Services, Capital Expenditures/Building Improvement, and School and Religious Education; as well as avoid financial crises due to emergency situations.

FINANCE COUNCIL
The Finance Council is a consultative body that gives advice to the Pastor and Administrator on financial matters including budget, financial policy, parish investments, financial planning for the church and school. The membership is representative of the parish community at large with experience in financial management/business . The Finance Council does not deal with pastoral, doctrinal or canonical (church law) issues.

Youth Altar Server Grades 4-12 – serve at Mass on Saturday evenings, Sunday Mornings, week day mornings, or at weddings. Must be at least in 4th grade. Required training.

Adult Male Altar Servers – Serves at funerals & special events. Required training as needed.

Lector – Read scripture, prayers of the faithful, and announcements for weekend, week day, or special Masses. Training required. Must have good reading skills and pronunciation.

Usher – Greet & assist people at Mass on the weekends. Take up collection, distribute bulletins, and assist parishioners as needed. Need to be at least 13 years old. Men and women welcome! If you attend the same Mass every week, think about volunteering!

Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion – Assist the priest by distributing Holy Communion at Mass.

Eucharistic Adoration – Commit to a specific time on Thursdays for prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, or sign up to be a substitute! The time before Jesus will transform your life!
*We would also like to get adoration going from 7pm-8pm every Wednesday to pray for the youth of Sacred Heart!

Anyone interested in education? Assist with tasks that aid the school in their teaching and educating the students.
Fish Fry worker: Lent – Take part in the Lenten tradition by working one or all of the Friday dinners! Volunteers serve food, clean up, and act as hosts/hostesses. Several people are needed! Time commitment– 3 hours/Friday in Lent. Volunteers—30-40/ Friday.
Athletic Coaches: Help coach Sacred Heart Sports! Time commitment: 30-40 hours. Volunteers needed: 2-3/sport. Volleyball, Soccer, Basketball, Softball, and Baseball.
Library Help: Monday/Tuesday - Help shelve books, read to students, assist students in checking out books. Needed during school year.
Playground helper: Supervise kids on playground between 10:45am - 12:00pm. Needed year round.
Classroom Tutor: Provide support to students. Work one-on-one with children in K-4th grade with reading and math.

Pastoral Care Call and Visit Assistants: This is an opportunity to follow up with parishioners who have experienced a difficult event in their life such as death or an injury. It is a true opportunity to share Christ’s love with others.

Art & Environment: The Art and Environment Committee is a group of parishioners who combine their gifts and work together to carry out the task of preparing and decorating for the parish liturgical celebrations. This is done in consultation with the pastor and in accordance with Liturgical and Archdiocesan guidelines on worship. Time commitment is less than 10-hours over the course of the year .

Wedding Coordinator: Being a wedding coordinator consists of answering questions couples have about the ceremony, preparing the church for the ceremony, aiding with the wedding procession, and helping clean up the church. The time commitment is approximately 6-10 hours/ wedding.

Faith Formation/Youth Ministry
Faith Formation is one of the largest, and most important areas at Sacred Heart instructing approximately 200 youth from Kindergarten through 10th grade every year. We also have a very strong adult faith formation group that meets regularly for Bible Studies, Catechism Studies, and Book Clubs! Please sign up for these important groups!
Teachers Aid: If you are not sure about teaching a class, assistants are always needed to aid the classroom teachers. Times– 6:45pm-8pm Wednesdays; Oct-Apr.
Office Clerk: Are you administrative? If you are, help us answer phones, track attendance, and perform office tasks for the Faith Formation department! Time commitment will vary.
Teacher Grades 1-8: Wed. PM - Help teach the children of Sacred Heart Oct - Apr. Our children are our most important asset, and aiding them in learning the faith will have eternal rewards!
Confirmation Instructor: Being a Confirmation instructor is a little different than normal classes. Here we will meet/work with small high school groups. Help build relationships in these small groups.
Teacher substitute: Can’t commit to being a full time catechist? Please consider being an on call substitute.
Adult Education: This group has many different ways of teaching adults through different studies and social events to learn more about your faith.
Adult RE Book Club: Do you love reading? Join the book club to learn more about your Catholic Faith!

Youth Ministry CORE Team/Chaperone: Get involved in our growing youth ministry department by either helping chaperone or attending our events! This is a great and fun way to get into your faith! (To participate – grades 6-12; chaperones must be over 18 yrs).
*CORE team is a special commitment to really go deep with the teens, build relationships, and grow in your Catholic faith!

Home Communion: This is a wonderful opportunity to bring Holy Communion to the home bound! The home communion ministers meet after Mass every other Tuesday morning to determine who each will be calling on that day. Each Minister of Holy Communion calls on two to four parishioners and completes their visit before noon. Training is required. Contact Deacon Jim Ramsey at 763-285-6244 or jramsey@shrmn.org.
Christmas Flower Delivery: Help deliver flowers to the local nursing homes for Christmas!

Sacred Heart’s Vocation Committee: The Vocation Committee is a group of appointed, invited or volunteer members of the Parish whose purpose is to instill vocations awareness to the Parish Community starting with young parishioners and continuing this awareness through one’s entire adult life. This purpose is to encourage and support all who express a desire to serve the Lord in the viable vocation of religious and ordained life. One of their more recent efforts involves presentations by members of various religious communities to speak to our Sacred Heart students at one of their Wednesday morning Masses a month.

Rosary before Mass: Sacred Heart is in particular need of help praying the Rosary before Mass, especially on Thursday! The leader will start at 7:30am.

SHCCW
The purpose of the Sacred Heart Council of Catholic Women is to encourage one another spiritually and to help one another materially. The Pastor may delegate other work for the S.H.C.C.W. You are invited to call the Committee Chairwoman of the activity that interests you. You will feel an important part of the community if you participate!
Funeral Luncheons: Help set up, serve & clean up at different funerals. This is a wonderful way to comfort the grieving, and serve those in need.
Branch 3 workers: 2nd Wed of each month; cook/serve a meal for Sharing and Caring Hands! This is a great opportunity to serve the poor!
Prayer Shawl Ministry: Do you have a talent for crocheting or knitting? If you do consider making shawls for those experiencing life transitions. We provide the yarn for knitting, and then you would provide the time and talent to make it!
Baby Jesus Shower: Collect baby items for women’s shelters. Share your time, talent, and treasure by collecting items, and then helping distribute them to women’s shelters.
Coffee & Donuts Sunday: Help set up, serve, and clean up at donut Sundays! Please offer your time for this time of fellowship!
Appalachian Christmas Drive: Help us collect gifts for the needy for the wonderful season of Christmas!
Funeral Honor Guard: Pray Rosary for those who have died at funerals.
Candy Sale: Help fundraise for the SHCCW so that we are able to continue to bless the parish with so many different activities!
Bake Sale: We need people who will help bake items for the parish bake sale, do- nate the goods, and help sell the items during the sale. If you like cooking, this is a great way to help!
Rummage Sale: We have two rummage sales a year in October and May. Please consider helping organize and run the days.
NEAR Food Shelf: Help with collection and delivery of donations. This takes place during the daytime throughout the year!
Respect Life Events: Volunteer your prayers and time to safeguard life! This is arguably the most important work we can do in our "culture of death". Volunteer/Chr. throughout the year at different events: weekly prayer at the Robbinsdale Abortuary; Fun Fest Respect Life Booth; October Respect Life Month; "40 Days for Life"; Ecumenical Prayer Service at Cathedral & Prolife Rally at State Capitol Jan. 22; CWC Walk for Life; attend fundraising dinners for prolife organizations; support SH Prolife Youth Group and help us organize more pro-life activities at Sacred Heart!
Sunshine Committee: Be the Sunshine in people’s lives! Send cards and occasionally visit those in need.

Fun Fest Worker: Volunteer for the festival! There are so many opportunities there are too many to list! Here are a few of the opportunities: Food Tent, Bingo, Adult Games, Raffle, and Kids Games. Time will vary for each commitment.
Fun Fest Steering Committee: Help plan and execute the festival! This is the largest fundraiser for the parish, and a very fun event to help with. Responsibilities will include planning events, recruiting volunteers, set-up, breakdown, and running the festival.

Young Adults – 18-39 years: The Young Adults group of Sacred Heart is a group that is trying to grow in numbers and events! If you are between 18-39 and want to see more for the young adults at Sacred Heart please sign up!
Survived 25: 25+ years married club – Meet other couples who have been married for 25+ years! This group meets for social events through the year!

Sacred Heart Men’s Club exists to enhance the faith life and fellowship of the men of Sacred Heart Parish. The Club will strive to achieve this vision by providing opportunities for spiritual, recreational, family and social activities, community service and fund raising in concert with the vision of the parish mission statement.
Currently our Men's Club works in conjunction with the Knights Of Columbus and helps with various events, e.g., Fall Mostaccioli Dinner, School Back to School Night Picnic, Fun Fest, etc.
Fall Mostaccioli Dinner: The Mostaccioli dinner is the largest Men’s club event of the year serving over 700 dinners! We need help planning, selling tickets, cooking, and serving the dinner!
Fun Fest Set up: September — The Fun Fest is the biggest annual event at Sacred Heart! We need lots of man power to set it up!
